In order to restore the West Bound rates on the Transatlantic trade, for as well USA as for Canada, MSC will apply a rate increase per October 1st 2010 with the below mentioned G.R.I USA GRI $200 / 20ft $200 / 40ft Canada GRI $100 / 20ft $200 / 20ft This GRI will be applicable on all cargo originated from North Europe and Scan Baltic region to US East Coast, US Gulf, US West Coast and Canada.
 
 
MSC HOME Terminal closed 16/08/2010

MSC Home Terminal will be closed for all landside traffic on 16/08/2010 due to local holiday. Waterside operations will proceed as normal, pending gang availability.

Low Water Additional Montreal.

This year the water levels of the St. Lawrence River have dropped below historic lows due to less snow over the winter, followed by an unseasonably warm and dry spring. Latest official forecast do not show any improvement and the situation will most likely continue or even deteriorate in the next months. We would like to inform you that with effect from August 1, 2010, Mediterranean Shipping Company will implement a Low Water Additional for all cargo moving via the port of Montreal from Europe, this means that all containers booked on the sailing of august 5, at this moment ‘Msc Aniello 252w’, will be affected by this surcharge, no exceptions allowed. USD 100 per 20` Container USD 150 per 40` Container For further information kindly contact your local Msc sales representative.

Pls be informed that he according to new Dg cargo procedure of Djibouti Doraleh Container Terminal, following IMCO classes destined to Djibouti and Ethiopia will not be allowed to discharge if consignees do not arrange cargo direct delivery. “All IMCO class 1.1, 2.1, 2. 3, 3 flash <23* and 8 – UN 1789 – 2031 – 2789 are not allowed to discharge in Yard and should be direct delivery.”

SEAL PROCEDURE

We have established an increasing number of containers to be delivered at the MSC Home Terminal with incorrect sealing. We like to advise you that it is the Shippers obligation to properly seal the container, on the therefore allocated location, in compliance with international regulations. As of april 15th all containers which fail to comply with the attached instruction will be sealed by the Terminal Operator for account of the cargo. In addition to the door-seals it is necessary that for reefer containers also the air fresh vents are sealed. We are obliged to charge you for the respective costs amounting to Euro 75,-- per container plus an administration fee of Euro 25,--. In addition to the door-seals special attention is required for sealing of the air fresh vents of reefer-containers. All MSC reefer-containers are properly air fresh vent sealed upon empty release from the respective depots. When reefer-containers are returned full at the MSC Home Terminal with incorrect, or no air fresh vent seals at all, the Terminal Operator will seal the air fresh vents for account of the cargo. MSC will be obliged to charge you for the respective costs amounting to Euro 50,= per air fresh vent. click here
